Touring the cool buildings of downtown Des Moines – on an Iowa architecture foundation walking tour

I joined other Des Moines Art Center docents last Thursday at 5:30 pm for a 90-minute Iowa Architecture Foundation walking tour of downtown buildings including this Art Deco gem (below) and a famous 1962 Mies van der Rohe masterwork, now home to the Catholic Pastoral Center at 601 Sixth Ave. Well worth the $20 fee, which helps support the work of the Iowa Center for Architecture in Cap Square.
